AVOIDING AUTO CAR DEALER SCAMS

Most of us feel two things when we go shopping for a new
car. One is the dread of those car dealers swooping in on
you before you can even get out of your car. But you're
excited about purchasing a new car. There are many good
dealerships out there that will give you the space you need
plus has a good reputation when it comes to the car
dealers. However, there are those less than reputable
dealerships that will sell you car that is guaranteed to
fall apart as soon as you drive off the car lot.

Your best defense against those dreaded salesmen is being
informed about the kind of car you want and the dealership
you're thinking of going to for that new car. The sale of a
new car should leave both you and the salesperson feeling
like the day has been beneficial to the both of you. So
prepare yourself and bone up on your auto dealership
skills.

You should research the kind of car you wish to buy just as
much as you would research a new washer and dryer or other
appliance. You would read what all the magazines are
recommending. You would shop around to all the places that
sell such appliance. Do a walk around, open the doors look
into the nooks and crannies, pull open drawers. Of course
buying a car is a bigger deal, but the principles are the
same.

For starters, there are two prime times for buying a new
auto. The first is at the end of December. During this
time, most people are focusing on buying Christmas
presents, meaning a new auto is the last thing on the list.
Therefore, dealerships are quiet and eager for customers
to come in and shop. With this, they will offer all types
of bargains to get your business and make the sale. The
second time is from July to October. In this case,
dealerships need to move old inventory to make room for new
vehicles. Therefore, dealer incentives between $1,000 and
$5,000 are common.

Online is one good place to look for good car deals. Many
dealers will offer good rebates and dealer incentives.
There are also good websites that will help you choose a
good used car. These websites research certain used cars
on the market and check the history of these cars. Of
course you will not be buying a car online, you still need
to go for a test drive and such, but the Internet is a good
place to start and will save you from running all over the
place.

Finally, if you plan to finance your new auto, know your
credit score. While this might not sound important, the
truth is that the more you know where you are from a
financial standpoint the better you can bargain. For
instance, having a good credit score often means you can
secure a lower interest rate, kind of as a reward from
lenders. By understanding and knowing your credit, you can
ensure you are being offered the best finance package
possible. The result of doing research prior to buying is
driving away in a new auto but at a price, and with
financing that is fair.
